The CEO is responsible for the leadership, direction, and tactical management of the organization and its resources, including the recruitment,development, and guidance of a high-performing staff.

The CEO ensures that AASLD expands a well-served national and international membership base, maintains dues and related revenues by presenting compelling organization value, and drives the exploration and conversion of services to members. Senior Director, Education and Professional Development

AASLD, an association for scientists and healthcare providers in the field of liver disease located in Old Town Alexandria is looking for a detail-oriented individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and advanced knowledge/experience in ACCME Accreditation Criteria, CME and CE processes and in-person and online education program development to include adult learning best practices. Responsibilities include development and implementation of an online education strategy, maintenance of ACCME accreditation and oversight of program development and related processes and policies.

Applicant should have 7-10 years of nonprofit educational program planning with a medical association and familiarity with MOC requirements along with excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Assistant Controller

AASLD seeks a talented Assistant Controller to join our Finance and Administration team. This is a newly created position and the person in this role will be responsible for preparing financial statements, dashboard reports, and analysis. Ensures that AASLD and AASLD Foundation accounting policies and procedures are in conformity with GAAP, FASB and in line with not for profit financial best practices.

The Assistant Controller reports to the Controller and will assist on all financial-related tasks. The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of five or more years of combined accounting experience within the non-for-profit organizations and five years in a supervisory capacity. The CPA designation is preferred.

Qualifications for this role include: a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, legislation and regulations concerning non-profit accounting and reporting, exceptional accuracy and keen attention to detail, experience with financial statement preparation for not-for-profit entities, experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process, and experience in preparing and review of payroll and non-profit tax filings. We’re looking for a self-starting, highly detailed professional who practices discretion in all financial matters and who has excellent organizational skills.
