The clinical management of COVID-19 continues to rapidly evolve in the wake of clinical trials and promising new therapies. Furthermore, a number of safe and effective vaccines are now available to prevent infection altogether. The aim of this webinar is to provide:

  • State-of-the-art update on the clinical implications of SARS-CoV-2 viral variants
  • Review of evidence-based recommendations for outpatients with COVID-19 infection
  • An overview of the currently available mRNA and Adenoviral vaccines to prevent COVID-19
  • Recommendations on how to tailor therapeutics and vaccines for use in patients with compensated and decompensated liver disease as well as liver transplant recipients

Moderator Bio

Oren K. Fix, MD, MSc, FAASLD

Dr. Oren Fix is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. He is an Associate Provider Informaticist at Providence St. Joseph Health and is board certified in Clinical Informatics and an Epic Physician Builder. He has served the AASLD as chair of the Training and Workforce and MOC Committees and currently serves on the Nominating Committee, Online Learning Committee, and the GI/Transplant Hepatology Pilot Steering Task Force. He is on the editorial boards of Liver Transplantation and Hepatology Communications. His research interests include alcohol-associated hepatitis and acute liver failure and he has more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
